Seasonal Math Workbooks

It’s fall — the Fall shelf is ready.

88 workbooks across Kindergarten to Grade 5 — Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer editions of every operation each grade carries. Every book holds 50 practice pages in the season’s watercolor art, a worked answer key for every page, a parent guide, one problem worked all the way through, a progress tracker, and a certificate for the last day. The arithmetic is the grade’s real work — only the borders change with the calendar.

Open to everyone: look inside any book — the worked example, a real practice page, and its worked answer key — and download a free sampler of every one of the 88. The full books are included with All Access.

What your child will actually practice

The arithmetic is the grade’s real work — only the borders change with the calendar. This table is generated from the same difficulty ladder the pages themselves are built from — not marketing copy. If a cell says most problems regroup, most problems regroup.

The seasonal workbooks' difficulty ladder, by grade and operation. Kindergarten carries addition and subtraction only, by design.
GradeAdditionSubtractionMultiplicationDivision
KindergartenSingle-digit addition with sums to 10 — no regrouping anywhere in the set.Taking away within 10 — single-digit problems a Kindergartner can hold.
Grade 1Addition within 20. About a third of the problems cross ten, because making ten is the Grade 1 skill.Subtraction within 20, about a third crossing back over ten.A first, gentle look: small groups of 1 to 5, products never past 20. This is meeting multiplication, not drilling it.Division as fair sharing: dividing into 2 to 5 equal groups, nothing past 20, and nothing left over.
Grade 2Three-digit addition, and most problems regroup — this is the year carrying becomes ordinary.Three-digit subtraction, most problems borrowing. The multiplication facts: factors 2 through 10, straight fact practice.Division facts with divisors 2 to 5, dividends to 45, nothing left over.
Grade 3Four-digit addition with regrouping throughout.Four-digit subtraction with borrowing throughout.Two-digit numbers times one digit — the first written multiplication with carrying. The full division facts through 81, straight from the times tables.
Grade 4Five-digit addition with regrouping throughout.Five-digit subtraction with borrowing throughout.Two-digit by two-digit multiplication — partial products, written out.Long division with one-digit divisors into three-digit numbers; about four in ten problems leave a remainder.
Grade 5Six-digit addition with regrouping throughout.Six-digit subtraction with borrowing throughout.Three-digit by two-digit multiplication with full partial products.Long division with two-digit divisors into four-digit numbers; about four in ten problems leave a remainder.

Seasonal practice · Where it fits

Are the seasonal workbooks what you need?

These are the workbook form of the seasonal worksheet sets: practice that supports a curriculum, never the lesson itself.

Choose it when

  • Your child has been taught the method and needs steady, inviting repetitions through the season.
  • You want one printed book per season instead of loose pages — with the worked answer key bound into the same book.
  • A season is coming and the ordinary drill pages have gone stale.

Questions parents ask

Are these a math curriculum?
No. They are practice — the same arithmetic as the grade's core practice sets, dressed for the season, with the teaching left to your curriculum. The sequenced K–5 math curriculum here is Building Number Sense.
What exactly is free?
Three things, for every one of the 88 books: a three-page look inside reads in the browser (the worked example, a real practice page, and its worked answer key), a downloadable sampler assembled from the book's own pages, and the first three practice sheets of the matching worksheet set. The full 108-page books — including every worked answer key — are part of All Access.
Why are the answer keys worth having?
Every key shows the worked answer — carries marked, borrows shown, partial products written out — not just the number. Checking a page together against a worked key is where much of the teaching happens.
Why does Kindergarten have only addition and subtraction?
Because that is what Kindergarten arithmetic is. The multiplication and division shelves begin in Grade 1, gently — small groups and fair sharing — exactly as the difficulty ladder above states.
