What HARVEST measures
Seven sections, each measuring a specific reading skill. The order matches the order skills develop — from the ear, through the eye, to the voice.
Phonemic Awareness

Why this level: This reader decodes short-vowel words confidently and hears sounds well, but slows on blends and longer words. Grade 1 (early) begins exactly there — consolidating short-vowel families and introducing blends before building reading speed.
What to do next
- Begin Phonics, Decoding, and Early Fluency at Grade 1, and add Foundations to Fluency for focused blends practice.
- Read the matching decodable readers together each day.
- Re-run HARVEST in about eight weeks to see growth and adjust.
