KJV Scripture memory curriculum · four Collections
The Hidden Word: Bible Memorization and Quizzing
A complete, four-level Scripture memory program for the home: 223 King James selections taught one verse at a time and reviewed until they stay.
- 4 Collections
- 16 thematic units
- 223 selections
- 2,695 print-ready pages
- Free
A King James Scripture memory programme, from an Apostolic position, for one child at a time and one Scripture at a time. There is no app, no login and no schedule. The order is fixed; the pace is entirely yours.
The four Collections, in order: Foundation, Builder, Runner, Ambassador.
The method
How one Scripture is learned
Every selection goes through the same five sessions. They are a sequence, not a timetable: a child may do all five in a day or spread them over a fortnight, and nothing in the programme prints a date, a week number, or a day.
- MeetRead it in context, define the hard words, say the reference.
- BreakEcho each phrase, then stack them one at a time.
- EncodeMove it, say it, draw it — at least two of the three.
- EraseWork the erase sheet, saying the whole verse at every stage.
- OwnRecite cold, reference before and after, answer the question.
The review path
Retrieve before you review: the child says what they remember before seeing anything. Then the gaps widen only as the child succeeds.
- Same day
- Next day
- 3 days
- 1 week
- 2 weeks
- 1 month
What “mastered” means — all six
- Reference said before the verse and again after.
- Word-perfect KJV — nothing added, changed or left out.
- No first-word hint from the adult.
- Correct on 3 separate days, not three tries in one sitting.
- Meaning explained in the child’s own words, hard words defined.
- Final check said with no picture on the page.
Three tiers, one verse
- 10 pt · RecallSay the reference, then the Scripture, then the reference again.
- 20 pt · DoctrineEverything Recall asks, and say what the Scripture teaches in your own words.
- 30 pt · QuotationEverything Doctrine asks, said cold with nothing on the page.
The unit review scores a unit; the Collection audit adds the reviews up; the advancement gate reads the audit — and it is allowed to say not yet.
Two products, and they do not mix
Print the Collection, or print the student packets
The Collection the full curriculum
Verse cards, teacher lesson scripts, erase sheets, copywork, activities and answer keys, retrieval sheets, wall trackers, unit reviews, the parent guide, the audit, and the certificate.
Choose it if you want to be taught how to teach it, or if you have more than one child.
The student packets the condensed option
Five student sheets per Scripture — see it, write it, fade it, recall it, exercise — and nothing else. One packet per unit.
Choose them if you already know the method and want the child’s sheets only, or you are working away from a printer most weeks.

Practical matters
Printing
- Cards on cardstock, duplex, flipped on the short edge — long edge backs every card with another Scripture’s meaning.
- Registration test first. Print the two-page test on plain paper, hold it to the light, and adjust before spending cardstock.
- Everything else on plain paper, single-sided, except where a sheet says otherwise.
- Answer keys print separately and are marked keep separate.
- The wall tracker is landscape, meant to be read from across a room. Put it where the child can see it.
What it is, and what it is not
Independent, King James, and yours to teach
Not an official programme
Hidden Word is an independent programme. It is not published, endorsed, approved or certified by the United Pentecostal Church International or by any other organisation, and its Scripture list is the one transcribed for this programme rather than any current year’s official list.
Doctrine is yours
The Scripture text is King James and comes from a checksummed copy, unaltered. Everything else — the meanings, the hard-word glosses, the questions and their model answers, the motions — is authored teaching material, written from an Apostolic position and not approved by any denominational body. Read it before you teach it.
Supervision is yours
Nothing here supervises a child. The recitals are heard by a person, the mastery rules are judged by a person, and the certificate is signed by a person. That is deliberate, and it is the part that cannot be printed for you.
For the home, at your pace
Sequenced across roughly ages 5 through 13. No date, week number, or age is printed on any child-facing page. There is no app, no login and no schedule. The order is fixed; the pace is entirely yours.
Questions parents ask
Before you print
- Where should my child begin?
- With the Foundation Collection. The four Collections are sequenced — Foundation, Builder, Runner, Ambassador — and each one ends with an advancement gate that says whether the next Collection should be opened yet. The programme is sequenced across roughly ages five through thirteen, but no age or date is printed on any child-facing page, so an older beginner can start at Foundation without embarrassment.
- Collection or student packet — which do I print?
- The Collection is the full curriculum: verse cards, teacher lesson scripts, erase sheets, copywork, activities and answer keys, retrieval sheets, wall trackers, unit reviews, the parent guide, the audit and the certificate. The student packet is the condensed option: five student sheets per Scripture and nothing else. Choose the Collection if you want to be taught how to teach it or have more than one child; choose the packet if you already know the method and want only the child’s sheets. Print one or the other — a packet is not a cut-down Collection you can top up.
- Which Bible translation does it use?
- The King James Version. Every verse is read programmatically from a checksummed public-domain KJV text; no Scripture is typed from memory or generated. 216 memory verses and 7 extended passages make up the 223 selections.
- Is this the official Junior Bible Quizzing material?
- No. The Hidden Word is an independent Faith Schooling programme. It is not published, endorsed, approved or certified by the United Pentecostal Church International or by any other organisation, and its Scripture list is the one transcribed for this programme rather than any current year’s official list.
- Can I read it online without printing?
- Yes. Every PDF in every Collection, and every student packet, opens page by page in the site's reader — the same reader the curriculum pages use for their previews — with zoom and a page strip, on a phone or a desktop. Printing is still how the programme is meant to be used: the cards, erase sheets, and copywork are made to be handled, and the reader is there to browse, teach from a screen, or check a page before printing it.
- What does it cost, and what do I need to print it?
- Nothing — every PDF is free to download and open to everyone. Verse cards and the certificate print on cardstock (cards duplex, flipped on the short edge); everything else prints on plain paper. Print the two-page registration test first and hold it to the light before spending cardstock. The answer keys print separately and are marked keep separate.
