A printable gift from Faith Schooling
Hide His Word in your child’s heart—one verse at a time
Twelve NKJV memory cards in two starter sets—First Verses and God’s Promises—with print-and-cut fronts, self-test backs, and a simple family guide.
Inside
Seven pages, twelve cards, two sets
A cover, a one-page printing and memorising guide, four card sheets, and a closing page about the full collection. First Verses holds Genesis 1:1, Psalm 23:1, Psalm 118:24, 1 John 4:19, Ephesians 6:1, and Psalm 136:1. God's Promises holds Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28, Philippians 4:19, Isaiah 40:31, Hebrews 13:5, and Lamentations 3:22. Each set takes two pages: a fronts sheet with the six NKJV verses laid out for cutting, and a backs sheet carrying the six references with a self-test line, so a finished card has the verse on one side and the reference on the other.
How to use it
One card, one week, one time of day
Print on cardstock if you have it, plain paper if you do not. Each sheet cuts into six cards; to make them two-sided, print the fronts, then the backs on the reverse, flipping on the long edge so each reference lands behind its verse. Then choose a single card and leave the rest aside. Read it at whichever moment your family already shares — breakfast, the start of school, bedtime, the drive to church — and say it together rather than asking a child to perform it alone. The guide page lists five ways to work at a verse: read it aloud pointing to each word, cover and say it a word at a time, write it three times, sing or clap it, and review yesterday's card before today's.
Who it suits
A first attempt at Scripture memory
Twelve cards is a starting rhythm, not a curriculum: enough for about three months at one verse a week, and small enough that a family who has never done this can finish it. It suits young readers, mixed-age family worship, a Sunday school class, and a classroom verse wall. When you want more, the full Scripture Seeds collection carries eighty-four cards in fourteen topical sets and is free to download without an email address.
