What you end up holding

The tool builds one PDF, laid out for ordinary 8.5 × 11″ paper at 300 dots per inch. Every verse gets a card of its own: a ribbon banner across the top, the reference under it, and the verse text below that. The cards sit in a grid — one, two, four, six, or nine to a page — with a deck title along the top of each sheet and dashed cut lines drawn between the cards.

Print the sheet, cut along the dashes, and you have a deck. Plain paper is enough for a week of practice at the kitchen table. On cardstock the same cards survive a school year in a pocket, a lunchbox, or a memory box.

Who reaches for it

It was built for Bible quizzing practice, and it suits any home or classroom working from its own list. A family learning one verse a week. A quiz team drilling a chapter before a meet. A Sunday school teacher who needs the same eight verses in every child’s hand on Sunday morning. A co-op class covering a passage together.

The reason to use it instead of a printed pack is simple: the verses are yours. If your class is in Matthew 6 this month, you print Matthew 6 — not the verses somebody else chose.

How to use it

  1. Choose a translation. King James, the World English Bible, or New King James.
  2. Choose a card style. Illustrated puts watercolor artwork behind the text. Plain is a light cream card and uses far less ink.
  3. Choose how many cards go on a page. Six is the default; one to a page makes a wall card.
  4. Pick a book, a chapter, and a start and end verse, then add the selection. A range splits automatically so each verse prints on its own card. Add as many selections as you like, up to forty cards in one deck.
  5. Watch the preview. The panel beside the controls renders the real first page, in the layout it will print in.
  6. Create the PDF and print it at actual size. Fit-to-page scaling moves the cut lines.

There is nothing to type. Book, chapter, and verse are dropdown lists read straight from the Bible text itself, so a reference cannot be mistyped and a selection cannot run past the last verse of a chapter.

Common questions

How many cards can one deck hold?

Forty. If you need more than that, build a second deck — the settings stay where you left them.

Which translations can I choose?

The King James Version and the World English Bible are both included in full. The New King James option covers a curated set of 199 verses; a reference outside that set prints in King James wording instead, so read the preview before you print a set if the exact wording matters to you.

Can I make cards for a whole passage?

Yes. Choose a book, a chapter, and a start and end verse. The range is split automatically so that every verse in it prints on its own card.

What do I need to print them?

An ordinary printer and Letter paper. Print at actual size rather than fit-to-page, because scaling moves the dashed cut lines. Plain paper is fine for a week of practice; cardstock lasts a school year in a pocket or a memory box.

If you want more than cards

The card maker gives you the cards. These give you something to do with them, and every one of them is free:
