Free Christian Learning Games for Homeschool

Faith-based phonics, grammar, and math games for short, purposeful practice between lessons — they reinforce what a program teaches; they are not the lesson. Begin with the complete Phonics Builder, then explore Grammar Garden and Faith Thinkers through open levels and full member progressions.

Faith Readers

Phonics Builder

Practice phonics and word families across grades K–3. All 80 word groups and all four activity modes are free.

  • Phonics sequence
  • Word family practice
  • Printable review

Phonics Builder works through 80 word groups in the order a decoding sequence normally follows: single consonants and short vowels first, then digraphs, blends, silent e, vowel teams and r-controlled vowels. A child reads and builds real words in each group rather than matching pictures.

Four activity modes give the same group four kinds of practice: building a word sound by sound, reading it at speed, spelling it back, and reviewing groups already covered. A session runs five to ten minutes, which is the point — it is review between lessons, not the lesson.

The whole game is open to everyone: all 80 groups and all four modes. It pairs with the phonics sequence in Phonics, Decoding, and Early Fluency, and with the by-pattern workbooks in Foundations to Fluency for a child who is catching up.

Grammar Garden — Word Jobs
Grades K-3 7 open modes · 3 open stories

Grammar Garden

Word Jobs

Sort word jobs and grow a garden that continues to develop as the child completes activities, practices sentence meaning, and progresses through the story lessons. The full progression is included with All Access.

  • Parts of speech
  • Sentence meaning
  • Story practice

Grammar Garden teaches what each word in a sentence is doing — naming, acting, describing — by sorting words into jobs and growing a garden as the sorting gets more accurate. Seven open modes cover nouns, verbs and adjectives; adverbs and two advanced modes continue in the full progression.

The story lessons put those words back into connected sentences, so a child is not only labelling parts of speech in isolation. Three complete stories are open; the rest continue with All Access.

It suits a child who can read simple sentences and is beginning formal grammar — roughly the point where written work moves from single words to sentences.

Faith Thinkers — Number Building
Grades K-4 2 open math paths per grade

Faith Thinkers

Number Building

Build numbers with visual manipulatives through two open math paths in every grade. The complete K-4 progression is included with All Access.

  • Number sense
  • Addition/subtraction
  • Visual reasoning

Faith Thinkers builds numbers with visual manipulatives on screen — ten frames, number paths and groupable objects — so a child sees a quantity before working with the symbol for it. That concrete-before-abstract order is the one Building Number Sense follows on paper.

Every grade from Kindergarten to Grade 4 has two open paths, covering counting and quantity, joining and separating, and the beginnings of place value depending on the grade. The remaining paths in each grade continue with All Access.

Reach for it when a child can carry out a procedure but cannot explain it — seeing the quantity move usually does more than another page of the same sums.
