Teaching Winter Multiplication
What it is
Grade-appropriate written multiplication - first products through multi-digit work by grade - set among snowballs and ornaments, with every sheet's worked answer key included at the end of the set. In Grade 1: a first, gentle look: small groups of 1 to 5, products never past 20. This is meeting multiplication, not drilling it.
When a child is ready
Ready once the child adds the same small number several times.
If they struggle
Draw the groups: for 3 x 4, three circles with four dots in each, and count them all.
