Teaching Spring Addition

What it is

Garden pages freshen grade-level written addition - blossoms, songbirds, and new leaves around the work boxes. It is the same practice as the plain sets in spring dress, with a worked answer key for every sheet at the end. In Grade 5: six-digit addition with regrouping throughout.

When a child is ready

Ready once five-digit addition is accurate.

If they struggle

Put the comma in both numbers before starting, and check the answer by adding the two numbers in the other order.

This skill in other grades: Kindergarten · Grade 1 · Grade 2 · Grade 3 · Grade 4
