Kindergarten Bible Verse Copywork Worksheets
34 printable Kindergarten grammar & writing worksheets on Bible Verse Copywork. Every sheet has an answer key — 34 in all. The first three worksheets are free to download; All Access opens the rest and every answer key.
Each page is built on one Bible verse: the child reads it, copies it, and then works with it from memory. The verses include 1 Samuel 3:9, Genesis 2:15, 2 Timothy 1:7, Matthew 14:29, Genesis 6:22 and Isaiah 6:8, with 28 more, all quoted from the New King James Version (NKJV). Each page carries a character theme, among them Obedience, Stewardship, Faithfulness, Faith and Trust. Every grade is on one page: Bible Verse Copywork Worksheets. Each sheet is marked with the week it was written for: weeks 2 to 35 of Phonics, Decoding, and Early Fluency, Kindergarten.
Practice pages support a program; they are not the lesson. These sheets reinforce Grammar Garden — Kindergarten, the dedicated K–5 language and writing curriculum from Faith Readers. See every program →

Teaching Copywork
What it is
Copywork is carefully copying a well-written sentence or passage, which teaches handwriting, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure at the same time. In Kindergarten the verse is a short phrase of two to six words. The child traces it once, copies it once, and then puts its words in order, fills in the missing words or writes it from memory.
When a child is ready
Begin with single words and short sentences as soon as the child forms letters comfortably.
If they struggle
Shorten the passage rather than lower the standard: a neat, correct sentence is worth more than a sloppy paragraph. Read the passage together first so the child copies meaning, not just marks.
