Teaching Greek Root: theo = God
What it is
The Greek root theo means God. Theology is the study of God and of what Scripture teaches about Him, a theologian is a person who gives a life to that study, and a theocracy is a nation that looks to God as its ruler.
When a child is ready
Teach it once the child knows -logy, the study of, from the Greek roots of Grade 3.
If they struggle
The family is small, so each word should be learned well and not just recognized. Have the child split theology into its two parts and say the meaning from them: theo, God; logy, the study of. A nation whose laws are given by God, as Israel's were through Moses, is the picture to give for theocracy.
