Teaching Alphabetical Order
What it is
Alphabetical order means arranging words by their first letter, then by the second letter when the first letters match.
When a child is ready
Teach it once the child can say the alphabet in order and name letters instantly.
If they struggle
Keep an alphabet strip in view. Start with words that begin with different letters, then move to words that share a first letter.
