Teaching Color by Number
What it is
A grid of small sums and differences within 10. Each answer has a color in the key, and coloring every box by its answer makes a hidden picture appear. A story problem follows.
When a child is ready
Start once facts within 10 are solved with counters or fingers.
If they struggle
Write the answer lightly in each box before coloring anything. A box that spoils the picture points to the sum that went wrong.
