Teaching Patterns and Rules

What it is

Input and output tables whose rule the child finds, such as add 7 or multiply by 4, four number patterns to continue and name, and a table to fill from a given rule.

When a child is ready

Ready once all four operations are done in the head with small numbers.

If they struggle

Test a guessed rule on every row of the table, not only the first. A rule that fits one row and fails the next is the wrong rule.
