Teaching Find the Unknown

What it is

Multiplication and division fact families with the blank in any place: a missing factor, a missing product, or the number being divided. A story problem ends the page.

When a child is ready

Ready once the times tables to 9 are known.

If they struggle

Every equation on the page belongs to a family of three numbers. Say the multiplication fact that uses the two known numbers, and the third is the answer.
