Teaching Addition with Regrouping
What it is
Twelve three-digit sums, most of them with regrouping. Each answer is looked up in a code key to spell a secret message, and a story problem closes the page.
When a child is ready
Ready once two-digit addition with carrying is steady.
If they struggle
Add from right to left and write each carried digit above the next column. If an answer is not in the code key, it is wrong: rework that sum only.
