The Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:13-26 (KJV)
This free Sunday School lesson teaches Galatians 5, where Paul names the fruit of the Spirit and tells the church to walk in the Spirit. It is written for ages 2 to 12, and children learn each name as the King James Version gives it, with the older words explained rather than replaced. Each age group gets six printable activities.

What children learn
Children learn the names Paul gives, which are love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance, and that Paul says let us also walk in the Spirit. The teacher guide explains longsuffering as patience, temperance as self-control and meekness as gentle humility, and the tree on the page is a picture rather than a claim about any real tree.

Before you teach it
The tree is explicitly a metaphor, not a biblical claim that this particular tree bears nine fruits. Never count illustrated fruit to establish the number of qualities. Read all nine exact KJV names; explain longsuffering as patience, temperance as self-control and meekness as gentle humility without replacing quotations. Pictures are visual reminders; species, clothing, exact shapes and small scene details are reconstructions unless the passage states them. Offer pointing, oral answers or a scribe. Supervise all cutting. Read the cited verses before using the activities.
