Before you teach it

The empty-tomb illustration shows two women as a selected portion; Luke names several women and others, so do not teach a total of two. The appearance picture likewise selects three listeners from a larger gathering. Jesus has a real living body; no ghost, wounds or frightening body is illustrated. Pictures are visual reminders; species, clothing, exact shapes and small scene details are reconstructions unless the passage states them. Offer pointing, oral answers or a scribe. Supervise all cutting. Read the cited verses before using the activities.

Week 35

The Lord's Supper

Luke 22:7-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 Children learn that Jesus gave the bread and the cup to His apostles and said this do in remembrance of me, and that Paul wrote the same words to the church. Questions about taking part belong to a family's own pastor, and the lesson leaves them there. Open the lesson →

Week 36

Jesus Died for Our Sins

Luke 23:26-56; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Children learn that Jesus truly died and was buried, and that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. The cross is shown empty, and Paul's gospel does not stop at the death, so the lesson goes on to the resurrection. Open the lesson →

Week 38

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19 is printed exactly as it stands, and the teacher guide reads it together with Luke 24:47 and the baptisms recorded in Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48 and 19:5, which is how Apostolic teaching takes it.
