Each teacher session opens with what that hour has to accomplish and what it must not do, then background you need but will not all use — canon and manuscript questions, the Greek or Hebrew behind the words the lesson prints, why the King James is used — followed by how to read the disciple in front of you, the likely questions and how to answer them, notes on managing the hour, and continuity notes into the next session.

Read the teacher session before the meeting and the matching disciple session with it. The depth lives here on purpose so the Disciple Edition stays clean, which means most of the background is for your confidence, not for the hour. The operating rules hold in both books: print the passage, observe before interpreting, build a doctrine from more than one text, and say the difficult thing early rather than saving it for baptism night. From session four the teacher begins introducing the disciple to other believers by name; that instruction is here and is deliberately not in the disciple's copy.
