Teaching Logic
What it is
Logic pages ask the child to reason from given information rather than compute: which one does not belong, what comes next, or who owns which pet given three clues. The arithmetic is deliberately easy so the thinking is the work.
When a child is ready
Pick a page whose reading and arithmetic the child already handles comfortably, so the reasoning is the only new demand.
If they struggle
Have the child read one clue aloud and cross off everything it rules out before reading the next — most errors come from trying to hold all the clues in mind at once. If a puzzle is still too much, cover all but the first two clues and work it in stages.
